L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation – Forgotten Favorite

Good morning (or afternoon or night – wherever you are =] )!! Today I wanted to bring up another forgotten favorite – foundation edition, again!

I recently fell back in love with L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Cushion foundation – which I used to use ALL the time about a year or so ago when it first came out.  Originally, I had this in a shade that was just a bit too dark for me (N3.5 Classic Buff), but I just picked up the next shade lighter (N2 Classic Ivory), which works in the winter now that I’m pale.  My perfect shade come spring will probably be a mix of those two since there’s no in between shade – though I think they just came out with an N3 shade that could be perfect but I may have to order online if my CVS doesn’t have it.

Of course, with any cushion foundation, you get the convenience of a liquid with the portability of a powder compact.  But what I really like about this one is the actual formula of the product itself.  Though it is not a full coverage foundation, it does provide me with enough to even out my skin tone and help blur my pores.  I’ll usually go in with a concealer over it to hide any blemishes or scarring if I’m really need it, but on my better skin days I’ll just leave it as is.

I always set it with a powder since it does have more of a radiant finish – but not too glowy or greasy.  It holds up really well on my oily skin, even through blotting and powder touch ups, since it doesn’t stay matte on me fore long.  You can use the sponge that comes with it, you’re own beauty sponge or (my personal preference) a brush. I really like duo-fiber brushes for cushion foundations in particular since I’ve found that sometimes dense buffing or kabuki-like brushes tend to act like sponges and wind up soaking up more of the foundation than depositing it on my face.  Duo-fibers don’t hold on to any excess product and though they can sheer out other foundations, I think with cushions they just help it appear more natural once applied.

I highly recommend this for both oily (if you powder) and dry skins as a great drugstore cushion foundation.  I’m so glad it caught my eye again because it really is so easy to use – and it’s affordable!!

Have any of you used this or other good cushion foundations lately??  I know Maybelline’s version is supposed to be really good too.  Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or if you’ve recently re-discovered a forgotten favorite of your own!!

PS – As a side note, I just want to thank you all for the support with Skincare Struggles.  I can’t believe I just reached 100 followers!! I really hope some of what I wrote about helps you all in your own journeys and just – thank you again!  Love you all:))
